Tancho Goshiki
Tancho Goshiki have their red pattern on the maruten spot,
the pattern on the head.
The rest of the fish should have the regular goshiki net pattern. The
maruten spot should sit between and slightly behind, the eyes.
The Tancho Mystique:
The Tancho Koi, the ones with a nice head pattern, are one of the Japanese'
favorite types of Koi.
It is because this pattern looks like their national flag and
the red
crowned crane (Grus japonensis). Every Koi collector needs at least
one Tancho in their collection.
